Find Your Way to the Ferry
Getting to Campbell River
By Vehicle
- Sail to Vancouver Island by BC Ferries to Nanaimo from either the Horseshoe Bay Ferry Terminal or the Tsawwassen Ferry Terminal.
- Drive on Highway 19 or 19A (the scenic route) to the Campbell River Ferry Terminal.
By Air
- Arrive at Vancouver YVR and board shuttle to YVR South Terminal.
- Fly Pacific Coastal or Central Mountain Air to Campbell River (YBL).
- Rent a car or take the airport shuttle to the Campbell River Ferry Terminal.
By surface transit from downtown Vancouver
- BC Transit Horseshoe Bay Express 257 to the Horseshoe Bay Ferry Terminal.
- Board the ferry to Nanaimo (Departure Bay).
- Take the IslandLink Bus to Campbell River. The bus ticket should be purchased online to ensure a seat, but can be purchased at the bus stop if seats are available. The bus will drop you off at or near the Campbell River Ferry Terminal.
Taking the ferry to Quadra Island
- Ferry from Campbell River to Quathiaski Cove (Quadra Island). It takes just 10 minutes to cross the Discovery Passage, but allow at least 1 hour for lining up and loading, or more on busy summer days. HERE is the schedule.
- Drive, cycle, or walk off the ferry and up the hill to Harper Road, the T intersection at top of hill.
- Turn left on Harper, in front of the shopping plaza and then take the next right (about 50 meters) onto Plaza Road.
- Go straight 100 meters on Plaza Road, and enter driveway at 681 Plaza Road (watch for the black and white ‘dragonfly’ signs).

- Yellowhead Highway 16 West to Prince Rupert.
- Then BC Ferries from Rupert to Port Hardy on Vancouver Island.
- Drive south to Campbell River.
- Then jump aboard BC Ferries to Quadra Island.
